We're getting close

Submitted by Chrisco/cwareham on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 20:00

We're getting close to a lot of things right now; close to the holidays (which is goodness if you're into that kind of thing,) close to crowds, close to visits with inlaws, maybe even close to crowds of inlaws.

On the economic front, the Dow is close to the 80-year correlated trend line with GDP growth, which is either good news or bad news depending on your financial position.

I think I'm digressing without having started. Anyway, there are a few things here at Omniture Developer (beta) that we're pretty close to as well:

- We're close to releasing a SAINT API in beta so you can load up your classifications programmatically.
- We're close to releasing a Data Sources API in beta (fret not if you're an existing Data Sources user - we're continuing that and actually encouraging use of it for larger files)
- We're working on allowing you to create and retrieve Data Warehouse segments via the Data Warehouse API.

We’re already flogging the SAINT API internally and the Data Sources API is coming behind that one soon. We expect these and the Data Warehouse API enhancements to see the light of day by Summit.

A couple of 'what's news':

You may have noticed some enhancements to the Code Gallery http://developer.omniture.com/codegallery. We've implemented the ability for you to rate code samples and comment on them, and have provided the ability to sort based on those ratings. You can also sort alphabetically or by date submitted.

We're continuously updating the documentation contained here based on your feedback. Keep feeding back, we'll keep getting better.

Enjoy your holidays, even if they're going to involve crowds of inlaws. If you need an excuse to get away and hole up in the basement with your laptop, whip up an interesting widget or mobile application leveraging our APIs and post it in the code gallery. At most it might start a movement. At a minimum, we'll think you're cool.

Have an awesome Thanksgiving,
Chris
